Research Experience

His current research interests are in the fields of networked control systems, robust control and signal processing, active disturbance rejection control and flight control. He has published eight monographs in Springer, John Wiley and CRC, and more than 100 papers in international scientific journals. He is a Deputy Editor of the Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology, Associate Editor of Acta Automatica Sinica, Control Theory and Applications, International Journal of Innovative Computing, Information and Control, International Journal of Automation and Computing. He obtained the Second Award of the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology (No. 1) in 2010, the Second National Award for Science and Technology (No. 2) in 2011, and the Second Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education (No. 1) in 2012.

Biography

Dr. Kewei Sha is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at University of Houston, Clear Lake (UHCL). Before he moved to UHCL, he was the Department Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Software Engineering at Oklahoma City University. He received Ph.D in Computer Science from Wayne State University in 2008. His research interests include Internet of Things, Cyber-Physical Systems, Mobile Computing, and Network Security and Privacy. Dr. Sha has served as the secretary of Technical Committee on the Internet of the IEEE Computer Society (IEEE-CS TCI), a guest Editor at Wireless Personal Communications, International Journal on Security and Networks and EAI Transactions on Wireless Spectrum, a conference technical program committee chair for ICCCN 2015, a workshop general chair for ICCCN 2013, a workshop co-chair of MobiPST 2011, 2012 and 2014, a session chair in ICCCN and CollaborateCom, a member of editorial board in several journals, and a program committee member in numerous conferences. He is also a reviewer for numerous journals including IEEE TPDS, IEEE TC, ACM TAAS, IEEE TDSC, IEEE TITS, Elsevier JPDC and so on. He is a member of ACM and IEEE.

Innovations in photonic integrated devices and frontier technologies for high-speed optical communications and optical data processing, including:
Design, modeling and fabrication of photonic integrated devices, such as silicon waveguides, lithium niobate waveguides, photonic crystal waveguides, plasmonic waveguides, microring resonators, metamaterials, graphene, specially-designed optical fibers, etc.
Frontier technologies for high-speed optical communications, such as space-division multiplexing (SDM), mode-division multiplexing (MDM), optical communications using orbital angular momentum (OAM), etc.
Frontier technologies for high-speed optical data processing, such as optical switching, optical logic/computing, optical format conversion, optical regeneration, optical data exchange, etc.
